Frequently Asked Questions
A quick resource to help you get the answers for the most commonly searched topics.

Who are you and what do you offer?

We started Hub66 because we didn’t like our Internet service providers. We believed there could be something better, a team run by people who care, without contracts or hidden fees. We decided to build the best possible network for our neighbors, our towns, and our communities.

Being connected to the Internet isn’t a commodity these days. It has become an essential utility in every household. Say goodbye to slow speeds, buffering, and unreliable connections. Hub66 provides wireless connection and fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Internet services that will leave you wondering why you didn’t make the switch sooner.

Hub66 doesn’t just offer customers Internet. We provide families, homes, and underserved communities with reliable, ultrafast home and business fiber Internet service, closing the gap for rural areas in need of big city Internet speed at an affordable price.

Do you provide phone or TV service?

Hub66 provides you the ability to “cut the cord” from traditional phone and television services, and have more flexibility with the dedicated services that are right for your home or business needs. Our service is optimized for calling over WiFi, meaning no more call fees or drop offs in service. You can even register with your local emergency services to link your Internet connection with your home address to prepare for emergencies.

When it comes to streaming services, the world is your oyster. If you like watching live sports, try Sling or FuboTV. If you’re looking for a cinematic experience, try Netflix, Disney+, or Canopy. Many streaming services offer the ability to watch live broadcast channels, and some even have options to sync up and stream content with family and friends in your separate homes. No matter what you need, the Hub66 team is happy to work with you to advise what services are best for you.

What is fiber-based internet?

Fiber-optic Internet, often shortened to “fiber,” is the ultimate high speed Internet connection that typically reaches speeds of 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) or more in residential areas. The key difference is that these speeds are symmetrical: download and upload.  Hub66’s FTTH Internet is built with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing it to run at amazing speeds and provide reliable service right to your home or business.

Fiber-optic Internet transmits data via light rather than electricity. Optical fibers, which are slightly thicker than a human hair, are bundled together to form fiber cables. These cables carry pulses of LED light, transmitting data with extreme high speed.

Fiber-based Internet far surpasses other technologies, such as DSL or Cable Internet, and is the premiere choice for your home or business. Our team at Hub66 is delighted to offer you the best available technology, speed, and reliability.

Does Hub66 charge an installation fee?

Not in most cases!

Our standard FTTH and Wireless services include equipment & installation at no charge! The equipment installed for your connection is maintained by Hub66, and is continually updated to run the latest technology to keep your connection running smoothly.

Sometimes we do special projects to get people connected in hard-to-reach areas.  If you are outside our normal serviceability area,  located in a tough spot, or want custom work done, we would quote an installation cost for the job prior to performing any work.

Does Hub66 require a contract?

Most of our connections do not require contracts – we stand behind not only our network, but the importance of extraordinary customer service; however, in some circumstances, creating a custom solution for your home might require a contract. If this is the case, we will make sure you know that up front.

How much will I pay?

Hub66 offers fiber-based Internet services, including Wireless and direct Fiber-to-the-Home connections, varying by location. Our plans include contract-free service, free installation, and all necessary equipment, serving fiber-fast speeds with unlimited data and no service throttling. What technology will Hub66 put inside my home?

Get ready for the coolest, most up to date tech on the market. Whether you connect via a wireless antenna on the outside of your home or a FTTH connection, we’ll install a router inside your home to get you surfin’ the web as fast as we can!

Do I need to be home for the install?

We’ll need access to your home to do this part of your Internet installation, as part of the installation includes running a wire into your home and setting up a router.  We’ll also need to go over steps of the installation with you, and ensure we place the equipment where you’d like. We also require that there be someone at home that is 18 years or older to authorize the install work we need to do.

What’s up with my speed?

We get this question a lot. When you sign up for Hub66 service, you’ll be informed what speeds you can expect. Network capacities can fluctuate for many reasons. A speed test reflecting slower speeds than an installer may have captured during installation often has to do with your WiFi signal, not the actual speed available via your connection. Your speed can also be affected by any other frequency in the area, such as radio and TV services. For the most accurate speed test, you would have to connect your computer to your router via Ethernet cord.

Why is my connection better in some parts of my house?

Your router, also known as your Wireless Access Point (WAP), emits a radio signal. As you travel farther away from the router, the signal will become weaker, thus diminishing your speed. This is the nature of WiFi.

Depending on the size of your home or business, your WiFi setup may require the addition of more WAPs. If this is the case, one of our knowledgeable installers will discuss this with you during installation to ensure you have all the equipment necessary to enjoy, and even boast about, your Internet connection.
